BOBBY DENNIS decided to become a comedian when he landed on his head from a parachute jump during his four years with the British Army, as a paratrooper!
BOBBY began his theatrical career touring the British variety theatres throughout the U.K. and then appeared for many seasons in revue, summer shows and pantomimes.
His numerous and critically lauded West End appearances in London included sell-out stints at the Windmill Theatre, Prince of Wales Theatre and Victoria Palace.
In 1978 BOBBY appeared on BBC TV in the very successful comedy series ‘IT AIN’T HALF HOT MOM” which was followed by another successful series familiar to Australian viewers “HI DE HI” about a holiday camp in Britain.
BOBBY first appeared on Australian Television in the 60’s with Dave Allen and later did three series, both in Sydney and Melbourne.
A regular on Australian Television ever since, BOBBY DENNIS was voted COMEDIAN OF THE YEAR by his peers and received the coveted MO AWARD in 1990.
